Sharing Knowledge for Crisis Management and Sustainability

Since its establishment in 2022 in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the mass exodus of independent journalists and media professionals from Russia and Belarus, jinn has deliberately focused on knowledge transfer programs and activities. Through our needs-based approach, we provide individual mentorship, coaching, and consultancy as well as group workshops and networking sessions in an interactive manner with hands-on practice opportunities using real cases and tasks.

Collaborative and Investigative Journalism Initiative (CIJI)

CIJI provides resources and networking to support investigative journalism across established and emerging media organizations. Operating across the EU and neighboring regions (2023-2025), CIJI serves journalists including displaced professionals from Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia.

Project

Novaya Investigative Lab

Novaya Investigative Lab is a training and fellowship program that helps journalists from Armenia, Moldova, and Russia develop diverse skills in cross-border investigative reporting. The program enables participants to publish high-impact investigations alongside investigative teams and media outlets from Germany and Eastern Partnership countries.

Project

Nexus: Cross-Border Center for Investigative Reporting

NEXUS is a cross-border initiative using investigative journalism to counter Kremlin influence globally. The program supports journalists and civil society in exposing disinformation, coercion, and interference. During 2023-2024, IRI and Jinn ran workshops in four cities, training journalists from Central Asia, Mongolia, Africa, and the Balkans to investigate foreign influence. A second phase will launch in 2025-2026 to expand cross-regional collaboration.
