Located Berlin's city center, the Exile Media Hub features workspaces, training and meeting rooms, and a studio for podcast and video recording. The space hosts trainings, language courses, consultations, and meetings with representatives from foundations, NGOs, and the media sector from Germany and other countries. Both freelance journalists and members of editorial teams and media projects based in Germany can become Hub residents through a competitive selection process. To work at the Hub, applicants must submit an online application including a brief work plan, their media project's needs, and details on how they plan to use the space for 6 months. Residents decide how frequently they wish to use the Hub's facilities, including the studio and meeting room. Mandatory participation includes attending trainings and presenting their media or new project at one of the closed events.
